Goldwater Scholarship
Ian Sander ’27 earns a highly competitive, national Goldwater Scholarship, which he will use to continue his research into tobacco and oral cancer.
Gene Therapy Research
Jan Kubacek ’26 is working as a student researcher at the Center for Gene Therapy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He plans to pursue a doctoral degree in Neuroscience or Biomedical Sciences.

Sarah Youngquist ’27 is transformed by her Stratford Ecological Center campers with face paint made from mud and rocks. After she graduates, Youngquist plans a career in science education.
Educational Enrichment
Students will use OWU Connection grants to conduct biodiversity research in Peru, work with zoo animals in Ecuador, research squid egg bacteria, review U.S. voting behavior, and explore food culture in Italy.
