A ‘Critical’ Partner
Ohio Wesleyan earns its fourth – and largest – Choose Ohio First grant, receiving nearly $1.2 million for scholarships for Ohio students pursuing STEM degrees.

Ohio Wesleyan awards $61,500 in fall semester OWU Connection grants to support hands-on learning experiences that help students “Think Big, Do Good, Go Global, and Get Real.”

‘Unbelievably Touching’
Thomas Stathulis ’25 (right) completes an internship in the finance department of Columbus, Ohio-based Pelotonia. The organization’s annual bicycle ride raises funds for cancer research.

Lily Rekow ’26 combines her enjoyment of playing games with her academic interest in computer science through her 10-week research project, “Artificial Intelligence for Modern Board Games.”

Influential Appointment

Renovation Recognition
Natalie Doan ’03 (left), Schooley Caldwell’s Melinda Shah, and State Historic Preservation Officer Diana Welling tour Slocum Hall. Its renovation earns a Preservation Merit Award.
Voter Recognition
The national ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recognizes Ohio Wesleyan University as one of the Most Engaged Campuses for College Student Voting during 2024.
Phenomenal Fall
The latest OWU Magazine celebrates Jay Martin, talks to alumni who fell in love with ornithology, explores first-gen success, visits Barb Wiehe’s comfort zone, and more!
Soccer All-American
Brady West ’25 is named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-America teams. He is a third-team All-America selection for the second consecutive season.
Catching Attention
Jake Smothers ’26 is named to the D3football.com All-Region IV teams. Smothers, who led the NCAC Conference in interceptions, is a second-team all-region selection.
All-Sports Race
Ohio Wesleyan currently is in fourth place in the NCAC All-Sports title chase. To earn the spot, the Bishops posted finishes of third or better in four fall sports.
