‘Songs at the Center’
Eric Gnezda ’79 will tape an episode of his nationally distributed “Songs at the Center” television show Nov. 22 in Jemison Auditorium. The show is now in its 10th season.
Playoff-Bound Bishops
The OWU volleyball team clinches its first NCAC tournament since 1996, earning the team its first-ever NCAA DIII playoff appearance. The Bishops will play Wisconsin-Whitewater on Nov. 21.
Run, Zoe, Run
Zoe Ward ’27 will participate in the NCAA Division III championship meet Nov. 23. She is the first Bishop runner to qualify for the national championship since Sarah Fowler ’17 in 2016.
Special Award
Bishop field hockey player Grace Ammon ’27 is named NCAC Midfielder of the Year, and Ammon, Ellie Conroy ’25, and Alyssa Markella ’26 are first-team All-NCAC choices.
Hoop Dream
Kasey Schipfer ’25 is named to the D3hoops.com women’s basketball preseason All-America teams. The fifth-season guard also is a first-team All-America selection.
Women’s Soccer Standouts
Natalie Ryan ’26 is the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-NCAC selection. Halle Dacek ’26, Kaylee DeShong ’25, and Ryan O'Neill ’25 are second-team All-NCAC picks.
Men’s Soccer Stars
Brady West ’25 is named NCAC Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-NCAC selection. Jaggar Brooker ’25 and Franklin Rodriguez ’25 also earn first-team recognition. Ryan Betts ’26 and Sam Whitman ’26 are second-team selections, and Alex Bucher ’28 and Christopher Guerra ’26 are third-team picks.
A Record Career
Men’s soccer head coach Jay Martin concludes his 47th and final season at the Ohio Wesleyan helm Nov. 17 when the Battling Bishops take on the Mary Washington Eagles in the second-round game of the NCAA Division III tournament. Martin closes his unmatched coaching career with a final record of 774-169-84 (.795).
