Mock Seriousness
Ohio Wesleyan will hold its 2024 Mock Convention on Feb. 23-24 to pick GOP presidential and vice presidential candidates and adopt a Republican Party platform.
Improving Water Quality
On Feb. 29, a panel of experts will explore “Improving Water Quality in Ohio,” and OWU students will share their entrepreneurial ideas to improve the Ohio River or Lake Erie.
Promoting Change
Seven OWU students and three faculty and staff members earn $12,500 in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Grants this academic year for projects to improve the campus community.
Baran Fellowships
Grace Frye ’25, Dana Kolesar ’25, Marvella Kurniawan ’25, and Alexie Otworth ’24 earn competitive Baran Fellowships to help make them stronger graduate school candidates.
NCAC Title
Guard Kasey Schipfer ’24 helps the OWU women's basketball team clinch a share of the NCAC championship. The NCAC crown is the team’s first since the 2000-2001 season.
Women’s Hoops History
Women’s basketball guard Lauren Denison ’24 nets her 1,000th career point. The team captain, Denison is only the 18th player in Bishop women’s basketball history to reach that mark.
Men’s Basketball Milestone
Men’s basketball guard Henry Hinkle ’25 reaches a milestone when he scores his 1,000th career point. The team’s leading scorer, Hinkle becomes the 34th Battling Bishop men’s basketball player to reach this mark.
Bright Bishop
Free safety Drew Thornton ’24 is recognized by the Columbus chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. He is the top scholar-athlete among seven honorees, earning a postgraduate scholarship.
