Braving the Big City
Anna Edmiston ’23 completes two internships during her semester with New York Arts Program. “One of the main reasons I chose Ohio Wesleyan is because of this program,” she says.
‘Reflecting and Recharging’
Thirteen OWU students and Associate Chaplain William Hayes take a Wilderness Trek to the Blue Ridge Mountains to help students make new spiritual and personal connections.
Lizard Lessons
Five students working with assistant professor Eric Gangloff will present research in January at an international meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology in Arizona. The group – including Cece Colwell ’21, Wyatt McQueen ’22, Ciara Pettit ’23, Sierra Spears ’22, and Princeton Vaughn ’22 – explored how common wall lizards adapt to environmental changes.
UPDATE: Budding Researchers
Four students working on NASA-funded plant research with professor Chris Wolverton presented findings at the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research conference in Maryland. Presenting were Leanna Bauer ’23 and Sai Siddharth Suresh Kannan ’24 (both shown), Regina Campbell ’22, and Abbie Courtright ’21.
Next Genius Scholars
Ron Netawat ’25 is one of eight “Next Genius” scholars from India currently studying at Ohio Wesleyan. The University is one of only 20 schools in the nation to be part of the prestigious program.
Pre-Nursing Pathways
Ohio Wesleyan is collaborating with Mount Carmel College of Nursing to offer two pre-nursing pathways that allow students to enjoy a traditional college experience while also earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Well-Versed
Professor David Caplan publishes his seventh book, “American Poetry: A Very Short Introduction,” part of Oxford University Press’s highly regarded “Very Short Introduction Series.”
An Expanding Legacy
Sarah “Sally” Ross Soter contributes $1.25 million to the Richard M. Ross Art Museum to create the William and Sarah Soter Endowment. It will help to fund a curator position.
All-Sports Race
Following the fall sports season, the Battling Bishops are in fourth place in the North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports title chase. Historically, Ohio Wesleyan has earned 157 titles.

Field Hockey Fame
Astrid Koek ’22 is selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Senior Team. A midfielder, she also is a first-team All-Region VI choice.
Brainy Bishop
Offensive tackle Dalton Rice ’23 is voted to the Academic All-District VII football teams. He also is a first-team Academic All-District selection and will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
Gridiron Greats
Three football players are named to the D3football.com All-Region IV teams. Kenny Streb ’22 (shown) is a first-team pick, Owen Albers ’22 is a second-team selection, and Shane Quin ’22 is a third-team choice.

Four men’s soccer players are named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Region VII teams. Jaggar Brooker ’24 (shown) and Hector Gomez ’22 are first-team selections, while Cristian Gomez ’23 and Ethan Marshall ’23 are second-team picks.

Men’s soccer players Hector Gomez ’22 (shown) and Jaggar Brooker ’24 are named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-America teams. Midfielder Gomez is a first-team selection, while forward Brooker receives third-team honors.
