Stay Well, Bishops!
Ohio Wesleyan faculty – including Amy (and Piper) Butcher – share messages of inspiration and connection as remote learning begins. Professor Rich Edwards reminds us that Sir Isaac Newton changed the world while the University of Cambridge was shut down during the bubonic plague, developing what would become Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation. “This is a unique opportunity to do something special, and new, and creative,” Edwards says. “Make the most of this opportunity. … Be more than you’ve ever been before.”Cool Beans

Understanding Argentina
Samantha Merino ’21 and Austin Strayer ’20 visited Argentina in December with faculty member Andrea Colvin to study the country’s “culture of remembrance.” Their experience was supported by The OWU Connection.

A Warren-Abrams Ticket
Ahmed Hamed ’20 and Mallorie Watts ’22 helped oversee Ohio Wesleyan’s two-day Democratic Mock Presidential Convention in February, ending with students nominating Elizabeth Warren and Stacy Abrams as the party’s 2020 ticket.
Learn, Grow, Connect
Ohio Wesleyan awards students nearly $42,000 in OWU Connection grants to support experiences ranging from caring for baby penguins in South Africa, to learning about climate adaptation from lizards in France, to interning with a Washington, D.C.-based think tank.
A Career Goal Record
Women’s lacrosse midfielder Sloane Baumgartner ’20 earned her 158th and 159th career goals when the Bishops battled the Big Red, breaking the Ohio Wesleyan career record set by Carrie Williams from 2002-05.
